I recently switched to a new wordpress theme called Tempera. After the switch I noticed all quoted posts in the forum now have a big black exclamation point on the left hand side of the box.

Is there anyway I can keep this new wordpress theme and also get rid of the unsightly exclamation marks in my quoted posts? Forum is here.

not sure its coming from us - maybe the wp theme... but cannot tell from picture... really need a link to an example (sorry, lazy to dig through your forum) where we can examine the css...

This is being applied by your WordPress theme CSS. See the ruleset for:

.entry-content blockquote:before

which is the culprit.

Thank you Swordfish. There is a new issue with my new wordpress theme and Simplepress.

The Theme makes the font at the very bottom of my forum under the time zone section look bigger than I think it should be.

It's doing the same thing to post content. It makes signatures that are long partially shaved off too.

Can you tell me how to fix it and then tell me how you did it? I tried looking at this for the first time with firebug, but can't quite grasp where the issue.

Those are kinda but not quite similar problems.

You can change the signature area size. See here https://simple-press.com/suppo.....-problems/

But your WP theme seems to use quite a large line-height css setting of 1.7em. That's why there is a lot of gap between every line in the forum and footer.

That needs to be checked and changed but it doesn't look like just one quick change. Each section should be checked for the <p line height and also the <a line height and adjusted accordingly so one change doesn't cuase an issue somewhere else.
