You need to edit the appropriate SP theme template file. In this case spHead.php. You can use the SP theme editor for this.

SImply locate the call to the sp_LoginInOut() function and remove or comment it out.

could not find this function, but commented out this 3 lines in spHead.php, and it looks like it works:

# sp_LogInOutButton(‘tagClass=spButton spRight’, __sp(‘Log In’), __sp(‘Log Out’), __sp(‘Log in and log out’));
# sp_RegisterButton(‘tagClass=spButton spRight’, __sp(‘Register’), __sp(‘Register’));
# sp_ProfileEditButton(‘tagClass=spButton spRight’, __sp(‘Profile’), __sp(‘Edit your profile’));

Please confirm this is correct and there will be no unwanted side effects.

Well yes – that removes the login, registration and SP profile. Are you sure about the profile removal? That will atop people selecting what editor they prefer, setting their timezone etc…?
But yes – removing them does not damage.
