and in spProfileShow.php or spProfileShowPopup, can you find this call:
sp_ProfileShowLocation('tagClass=spProfileLabel', __sp('Location'));
or in spTopicView.php, can you find:
sp_PostIndexUserLocation('tagClass=spPostUserLocation spCenter');
if not, then it was customized out...

Then you will need to add it back in to the template if it has been removed.
Your best bet would be to take a look in the 'default' theme's spTopicView template file. Locate that function and note where it is called in the display stream. Then copy and paste it into the same position in your custom themes spTopicView template.
