Hello,

 

Initialy before using a mix of profanity filter/report plugins to control misuse of the forum I would lke to be emailed any new post before its gets submitted and then once checked allow it to be posted.

Is this possible

I looked through the forum options but havent been able to locate anything will allows this

Sounds like you need to use the moderation options. This code article should help explain:

If you do start to use these then I would recommend also using the SP Admin Bar plugin which makes the task of checking all posts, approving and removing etc., much easier.
