RPX icons display vertically and mess up the page

I set up Janrain Engage for my website and turned it on in Forum/Options/RPX 3rd Party Login. The icons for social media login (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) appear at the top of the forum page, vertically, over top other information, and generally look terrible.

I'm not sure if this is a Simple Press issue, a Janrain Engage issue, or what.

Edited to add:

I logged out from here to look at how things are set up on this forum. On this forum, there are no Facebook/Twitter/Etc. icons showing near the top.

What have I messed up?

The forum here uses the built in Janrain setup not the Janrain Engage WP plugin.

If you use the built in one it will work as it does here and also will work if someone registers/logs in anywhere else on your blog.  Try deactivating the WP plug in and see how it looks/works.

Thank you Brandon. I will try that.

However, what is the sense of Janrain working on the forum but not having the capability of users to login using Facebook, etc. for comments, etc?

it was really meant for the forum... If you want it for whole site (most do not but understand why you would), then I would use the wp janrain plugin which will do that... and disable the inline login form and just link to the wp login page...

Okay, that makes sense. I'll fiddle around a bit.

After searching, and searching, I found the topic I was looking for, and almost the perfect answer, BUT,

Mr Papa said

Where do I disable the inline login form? I see nothing in the plugin, nor in the forum settings, granted, I may have missed it, could you tell me where to find it? Or, better yet, since everything else is working great, how to fix it?

Thanks for your help and a great forum plugin!

it would be in your sp theme template file...  if in the default location, it would be the spHead.php template file... just remove the call to the login form...

oh wait, if you remove the inline login form, you remove the janrain stuff...  are you saying you only want the janrain on the inline form and not the standard wp login stuff?  if so, you cannot really do that...  the janrain stuff hooks into the wp login form... if you remove that, the janrain stuff wont show either...

if you want to remove the whole login form, then do as I said in first paragraph...

I'm just trying to fix the vertical icons, look at this pic http://screencast.com/t/3ys1WI99 it is a screenshot of that area on the forum. I have the Janrain plugin installed, but I am not using it, I use the minimeta widget, it adds the icons too, but, horizontally, like this http://screencast.com/t/MSV3Ypm3RcL, I mean, if I remove the plugin, and only use the the login.php, and then what will I lose from the RPX? I can deactivate it and see, but, I had not used it at first, only after going to the register page and not seeing the icons did I install it. I mean the forum is not the main feature of the site, it is just an option, so I really need it to work in both places. Thanks

confused. neither of those have anything to do with our inline login form - or at least not directly...  we are not displaying those icons in image 1... guess you have another plugin doing odd things?

if you want to use janrain, its built into sp and you dont need a separate plugin... in fact it may conflict with the sp janrain implementation if in use on forum - components - login and registration...

your other plugin may be doing a poor job if hooking into the login form and displaying the icons like in image 1...  why dont you try removing the inline login form as I detailed by editing the spHead.php template file... will likely clean up the main forum display from the encroaching plugin...
