SEO Titles not working with YOAST

I am finding that the SEO features are not working, I have have the WordPress SEO plugin by yoast installed, and all that displays on all the forum pages is the default page title that is provided by yoast...

I searched the forums about this and only found 1 post about tunring on/off ugly permalinks, i tried that but it didnt make any difference

its working now, i still had the ugly permalinks selected in yoast which prevented it

Good news. I never did understand the term 'ugly permalink'...
