Set featured image from upload

When using the auto post creation from topic, It works fine, however I need the featured image set. Can you provide a modification to the plugin/code to allow the featured image to be set when adding a new post. It can be the first uploaded image or the last , whatever works.
This would be extremely useful.

if the image is in the post itself, it will show up in the forum content...
