Short Codes from theme interferring when post added to forum

Hello,

Since this is my first post, I’d like to say hello and Thank You for such a great forum package.

I installed WP 3.3, installed your Beta 5, and it’s been flawless. I had also installed BuddyPress at the same time, and that was causing some issues with my site, so I killed it, and all is well.

The issue I’m having isn’t really the “fault” of SimplePress, though I’m sure other users will experience similar issues.

My theme uses an extensive set of custom short codes. One of these is a replacement for the standard HTML P tag. When I use the post to forum feature, it copies the content using the custom short codes. Then, in the forums, the content is hidden from view. I’m guessing the parsing doesn’t understand the short codes and doesn’t know how to render the content.

I do have “Filter WP Shortcodes” turned on in Options.

I’m thinking I need a plug-in for SimplePress to strip unknown short codes from the content during the post/import.

Or – is it possible to simply use the Excerpt from the post, instead of the post content? I would actually prefer this, as the post would be horribly contorted without the short codes from the theme.

FYI – the theme is Prestige, at http://themeforest.net/item/prestige-ultimate-wordpress-theme/132654

Again, thanks for the great software – for a beta it’s remarkably solid, and I’m loving the new themes and overlay system.

My apologies! I just found the option to use the post excerpt. Sorry to waste your time – I know you are incredibly busy.
