Support Forum
Hi all,
Sorry, me again
My members email me every now and again because they think they can't add topics or posts. They can, but have to scroll down to see the editor.
I noticed that on this forum, when you click "add reply" or "add topic", you're shown the editor. On my install it shows the editor below the forum/topic list, so you gave to scroll down to see it.
Not sure if I'm explaining this properly; please see http://vertrekkersinfo.nl/foru.....ur-gewist/ (a test forum with full permissions for guests). If you add a topic ("Onderwerp toevoegen") or reply ("Reageer") you'll see the editor is displayed below the list - on a busy forum with more topics and posts, you won't see it untill you scroll down.
Not sure how this happened; we're on the latest SP and are using the Default template (1.0.13, one update behind).
Thanks for any help on this!
The editor is always at the bottom - it is here. When you click on the reply button, the page opens the editor at the bottom and then scrolls down to place it in view.
Now I have just been and visited your site and tried it on a couple of your topics and it is working just fine! Scrolls down as it should - focusing the editor in the window. There are no script errors which we would expect if the scroll command failed.
We have no other reports of this behaviour being missing either!
So - is this browser specific perhaps? I can confirm that t works on all browsers we support which would be the latest versions of IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera. If IE then we really do need 7 at a pinch but really 8 and above. And f things do not work below IE 7 that will be more to do with IE not being able to comprehend the more up to data script libraries being used by WordPress.

I'm using Firefox 12 (Linux version); most of my members are (now) using FF or Chroom, or at least a well updated IE. There are a few members using older (ancient) IE-versions - sorry, but they're on there own
But it's plain weird ... it works for me here, but not on my own site ... The page does open the editor, but doesn't focus on it (doesn't scroll to place it in view). Obviously, I use the same browser for both sites.
The only difference I can think of is the editor itself ... I'm using the BB-code editor on my site. I'll swith back to the default (Tiny) and see what happens ...
EDIT: it was the editor ... When I use Tiny, the page does focus, when using the bbCode editor is does not. Shame, because the BB editor is very basic (again, works best for the less computer-savvy members) -- but maybe just a bit too basic if people don't see it
Sorry but this still worked just fine for me on your site when you had the bbCode editor as the default and the 'scroll to' code is independent of the editor.
Do you see any difference when logged in as an admin, an ordinary member or a guest? it is possible differet scripts are being run by another plugin or theme for an admin - for example?
