Simple Press deleted an admin user!??!

I just traced down a major issue…

The Simple Press “Inactive Members Account Auto Removal” feature can and will delete admin users – even the default WP user ID 1 account.

As a security precaution – we had stopped using our user ID 1 admin account last year after a hack attempt, but that account was the author of most of our sites older pages, blog posts, and media files.

On 9/11 this year – that account vanished, along with all content that had been written by that user, and even files that had been uploaded.

Considering the 9/11 date – we suspected malware or some sort of attack. Only after a lot of digging were we able to trace this back to Simple Press.

This seems like a bug / design flaw. A feature designed to purge old users in a forum should not be removing site admins.

Thoughts?  Has anyone else run into this?

No other reports. I can guarantee that if we had heard of this before then it would have been fixed to not happen. Assuming you are correct in your diagnosis all I can do is apologise for the bug and promise it will be fixed for the next update. I have opened a ticket to ensure that happens.
