The error on the changelog was just me being stupid. It is harmless and fixed next time around.
Don't be so hard with yourself... nobody is perfect!
The cursor in the editor scrolling the window is a Firefox bug - at least that is what the Moxie people seem to be saying and there is evidence to suggest FF has a ticket open on it. It is driving us nots too.
OIC... and it's not happening all the time. Pretty strange nonetheless.
yup. FF used to be very fast... others have caught up...

With version 5 you guys delivered a fantastic piece of work!

In the last few weeks I was able to get the forum almost where I wanted it. You all helped a lot. Now I will have to decide if I take the plundge and go ahead with this solution. Remaining and the biggest problem is probably that bug when using Firefox. I wish they would take a look here with you guys as to why this is happening. There must be a workaround because there are so many form or text box all over the internet that don't behave like here. I know you're close to release final version, solving this would nail it.
Are you aware of the ticket number opened at bugzilla?
The problem raises it's head when content is programatically placed in the editor - so this would be mainly when using the quote button. And it is unique to Firefox. This worked fine until about Firefox 7 or 8. I have no idea of the bugzilla report.
So this is why textareas and even instances of TinyMCE work OK 99% of the time as mostly content is not pasted in using the API.
My belief that the problem is with Firefox is partly that it was an update to Firefox where the problem first showed itself, partly because there were other issues in the same area that materialised with that same update that have since been fixed by Firefox but also partly anecdotal in reading up on the issue from other sources. One of the problems with dealing with the TinyMCE Moxie people is that, in my own experience, they never comment on bug reports. I raised this particular issue with them myself and since then a few other people have added to the ticket but Moxie themselves never respond.
basically we are in a state of wait and see at the moment.

Just wanted to chime in up here as a newbie to the simple press world. We recently switched over from bbPHP to bbpress because I liked the fact that it tied directly into our site's buddypress installation... then found out that bbpress is well... undeveloped.
So, I happened to stumble upon simple press and was shocked at how amazing you guy's work is. The comments from my users is that your forums are damn near as powerful as bbPHP except for us admins you have a world of functionality and flexability through your admin tools. I could gush all day on how happy you've made me, but I'll keep the hugs to a minimum 🙂
I decided to just jump knee deep and go straight to the 5.0 beta and have noticed a few bugs minor glitches, but nothing overly significant. I know you guys are trying to integrate with Buddypress a little more, any word on simplepress putting post content into the activity log? Also an unintented perk I'm assuming, but allowing user's to upload ig avatars then overwrite's word press's avatar is shear genius. I've redirected the "change avatar" link down to the forum's profile page on our site, thus allowing Buddypress to control all profile fields except signature and avatar which get routed down to the forum's profile page.
Since we are a non-profit site we can't afford much, but on 5.0's release you can expect a donation from us 🙂

Gosh! Thanks for all of that. Just hug away!
Please do make us aware of any bugs, glitches, no matter how small. We want to make this as good as we can.
When we have finally got V5 on 'gold' release - and got the new V5 Codex up and running with all the content we need, then we will start planning 5.1 and THAT is the one where we want to take a closer look at BuddyPress. I can't promise anything yet but that is the plan.
Of course.. if someone out there would like a nice little plugin project then this could be it!
