Actually hold that thought.

You got me thinking about this again and I may have just come up with a workaround. Going to need to do some testing in all browsers first though

Let me know, I will be happy to test!  It's only related when using quotes?  It may explain why I often see it, because I quote a lot, just like now.  🙂

My coding knowledge is limited sadly to visual basic and some C#, but I'm slowly picking up just enough to be dangerous on PHP.

While I don't suspect it's a bug caused directly by simple press I did notice that once I installed the plugin my time suddenly went all funky. Several portions of the website are showing as -7 hours (we are UTC-7 for Denver, CO) on top of the UTC adjectment already there. I did a temporary fix of setting the time to Casablanca time to offset the issue till I can find the culprit, but that is causing issues with other plugins that are not thinking we are Casablance time lol.

If WP is set correctly to Denver time (UTC - 7) then the forums and buddypress show all activity as either -25200 seconds (-7 hours in seconds) or just a flat 7 hours ago. No sure if you had seen this one or not.

It would be useful if you could set the server timezone (WP general settings panel) to the actual city.
This will determine the date/time saved with your forum posts.
Then each user should really set their own timezone city in their forum profile. This will determine the post data and time that they see on the forum posts - adjusted for their timezone.

Yeah there in lines the problem, when you set the time to the actual city all the posts show up as -seconds.

Likely an easy fix but after upgrading to SP5, all my black text turned to white again. White text on white background is basically a blank slate. Firebug fix? Thoughts? Thanks again. The new design looks silky smooth. Excellent work!

So what were the actual timezone settings here for that user (in the image). What was the server set to (WP Settings) and that users profile?

And you mentioned an issue with other plugins. Do you have one that performs a timezone reset as we have found that that can cause issues and am not sure if we can work around that short of turning off the 'nicedate' display and reverting to standard date/time formats..

In that pic WP Settings are turned to Denver and the location of the user is Denver. I've tested with my own account and 2 other user accounts with cleared cache, but same result. Buddypress is showing the same thing as well as Event Manager. Setting the time to Casablanca time is a workaround fix, however Event Manager gets a bit confused between it's event time vs displayed event time.

If one of those plugins is performing a reset of the php timezone then that could explain it.

So - one more question before we come up with a cure.

When you go to the topic view (posts) and the date and time of posts in the left hand side correct when the timezones are set correctly?

Nope, it looks like they are showing up +7 hours.
