it likely did... in preparation for pushing out a core update and themes and plugins updates tomorrow, we updated the .po files at glotpress... it wouldnt change anything in the .mo file you already downloaded... only if you downloaded a new one... since yours, for example, was 100% complete, wouldnt have expected you to grab another version...
we also update everything in svn... but we limit, obviously, when and the frequency we push an actual update out through the wp updater...
unfortunately, we have to do some things in serial... so there can be short periods of time of instability in pre-releases...
the updates will be pushed out tomorrow... sorry for any inconvenience...

I see... no problem. Still not 100% translated because I do a page or two then download and see how it looks, then go away, come back 2 hours later and do a few more...
Well, I'm gonna wait for the updates then. Just lost 30 minutes trying to understand if I did make a mistake.
Until then I will try to save the changes I made to one of the theme so I don't lose them.
okay, cool. but you are starting to see one of the problems that will be facing folks with their own theme. at some point their theme will diverge from ours. and the translations will only be for our themes.
unless the user created themes stay in sync which there may or may not be a reason for... but after 5.0 releases final, we will have backwards compatibility at the forefront of our changes... we cannot break user developed themes with our changes... user themes may not get new features (ie new template tags) without upgrading them, but they need to keep working with what they have...

Ok tell me... one change I did in the red-sky theme is change all the red from #990000 to #AA0000. I think there was 33 occurances.
Isn't there a way to have such a change and receive future updates without problems? In this particular case I know I can do a search/replace each time after an update but is this the only solution? Isn't there a custom.css file in the S:P theme section were we can override such default theme colors and styling?
Well he first rule is to not make custom changes to anything we supply but always make a copy. So - if you are wanting to make sweeping changes to templates, for example, then make a copy of the theme to make it uniquely yours and then it will be safe from updating. We should have a codex article up on that pretty soon now.
If you just want to make minor changes to an overlay the same applies. Make a copy of the overlay you want to change and make it uniquely yours.
The WP Updater will currently wipe the entire folder and replace it with an updated version. This is a constraint of the updater. The WP team have plans to change this so that we can update individual components but they have not put this in place so we have to use what we have got.
So if you are making changes to one of the themes we supply you need to make it safe from updating so rather than use the WP updater it is better to download it from our site and update it manually.
I'm not really sure there is much more we can do to be honest. We always advise people NOT to customise our supplied themes but we can not exactly force them to do so!

This morning I began translating the Admin side. When I visited the Profile page with the 4 tabs Profile, Options, Usergroups and Permissions on the Fron End I looked where those where and found them in Admin. So for now the only strings I translated are in the Profil tab and they are :
Overview
Edit Profile
Edit Identities
Edit Avatar
Edit Signature
Account Settings
I uploaded the spa-fr_FR.mo file just like I did with sp-fr_FR.mo file but the translations do not show up. Could it be also caused by the fact that you have updated the po but I haven't downloaded latest svn (or received the update)? If so then I will wait for all the updates you should be pushing today.
have you looked on forum - profiles - tabs and menus? they were intended to be translated there... allows more flexibility in naming since they are not in a template tag...
