Single post Approval from Admin Bar

It appears that there is no longer any capability to approve individual posts within a given topic with multiple posts from the Admin Bar. Is this expected behavior? Just wondering if this is now the new norm or if I need to troubleshoot additional moderation issues.

To clarify, in v. 451 on our life site the Admin Bar includes buttons to "Approve This Post..." beneath each post in a topic within the Queue. The only button beneath individual posts in v.501 on our test site is "Delete This Post". The only option to approve posts is at the bottom of the list of posts for a topic and is says "Approve All Posts and..."

Can someone confirm if this is the way it should be? If so, please consider this a feature request for the return of individual post approval, or provide an explanation I can give a moderator who asked.

Thanks!

hmmm...  I dont recall being able to approve singular posts like that from the admin bar...  but I havent been on a 4.x install in quite some time, so not doubting you...

but afraid we did not provide that ability in the current admin bar plugin...  so it is expected behavior...

I will have to see if we can add the functionality to the admin bar plugin...

Thanks for the consideration, and for confirming this is not a glitch. A moderator pointed this out to me and I confirmed it by comparing our two installs.

Here's an argument for adding the individual post approval feature back...

This morning we had a questionable spam comment along with a valid post from a different new member awaiting moderation on our 4x install. A moderator was able to approve the latter while keeping the spam comment in the queue for us. Using 5x, both comments would have to be left as unapproved.

Thanks again for all the hard work. I apologize once again for not being involved during the beta cycle to address these issues then.

understand the use case... and will get it added..

however, you can still use the forum tools on each post to approve individual posts, so until the fix, you are not stuck...

Jim, I cannot find anywhere in 4.5 where this is supported... not in the admin bar at least...  and as I said you can still do it from the forum tools...

doesnt mean I dont disagree with your use case...  just going to require a bunch more work to implement since the structure does not support it directly...  ticket is open...

Well this is just bizarre, I swore I saw it earlier after a moderator pointed it out. But you're right, I do not see the buttons I saw after attempting to grab a screenshot for you... confused

I really did see the Marfa lights last week though!

In using the v.501 Admin Bar a bit more, however, I do notice that posts by moderators no longer appear in the queue.

This was an option in 451 which we currently have set to on (mod posts do appear) on our live site. Now I'm curious if they are not included by default, or if this might be another residual legacy settings issue. Since the option is no longer available to show them or not, is there a way to include them with a template hack or is it some core function?

correct... thought process was if you trusted them to moderator, you can trust them to remove posts from the admin postbag...

it wasnt really working right in all instances and was muddying up the water so we just removed it in 5.0...

Thanks for the clarification about removal of posts by moderators, but I'm still curious if there's a way to show posts from moderators in the queue/postbag.

no, not currently... sorry...

and I dont want to beat a dead horse wink but why have moderators posts show up in the postbag? do you need to check up on them?  not being sarcastic or anything, really trying to understand the use case...

if you just want to see the posts from moderators, don't forget they will still be shown in your new post list and in the quicktags recent topics...

using the postbag and the quicktags recent posts is a powerful way to admin the system...
