Hello again,
My forum operates very slowly. Considerably slower than this support forum that we are currently using. More specifically, it takes a lot longer to add a reply or a topic. How can I speed this up?

Actually we are using a top of the line dedicated commercial server. I highly doubt that's the issue. Could there be errors or something that are creating issues?

you could always check your error log... or if you have a hi end dedicated server, your hosts should be able to run some process and/or mysql analysis and see what is going on...
are you displaying gravatars? if so, grab the gravatar cache sp plugin...
longer when you save? that is obviously a db access so what else could be involved? any social network stuff?
maybe try disabling other plugins and see if it changes? shouldnt, but perhaps worthwhile test...
