When I am replying to a topic it is taking from one to three minutes after clicking Submit Reply to save the reply and see it posted in the forum topic.
I have tried disabling most of the plugins in SP and WP to see if any of these are culprits. No luck. Also, we are on a dedicated server and all versions are current.
Any ideas?

Do you actually mean that it takes between 1 and 3 minutes to actually save and reload the page? Just one page?
If so then you really do need to (a) look ah the php error log and (b) talk to your host.

Also, this only happens when saving a reply in SP. It does not happen when editing a forum post nor does it happen on the WordPress side-- those posts save quickly.
I will contact the host.

Well - note I did say you need to look in your error log. See if there are lost of entries that may show that something is wrong with the operation.
As to your host I would be asking them to profile the site during the reply operation - if they are willing. They may prefer you to do this using a profile tool which will show you what operations are taking up the time.
