Sort posts newest to oldest under Topic View Formatting is not working properly. When I check the box it does the opposite which in and of itself would not be an issue (I could just uncheck it to get what I want) but no matter what I do, once a new reply is added, the user is redirected to the wrong end of the list. If I leave it unchecked so that it shows the post recent posts first, when a new post is submitted it returns the user to the last page of posts. If I check it so that (in its broken way) it displays the most recent posts last, when a user submits they are brought to the first page of the posts.
I tried downgrading to a previous version that was working but was stopped because it wanted me to make a DB change of some kind.
If you can either let me know where to look to fix the issue in the new version to tell me what has to be updated in the DB to downgrade to the older version to resolve this, I would appreciate it.
afraid there isnt a known issue here... so no fix to pass along... this is the first report of such behavior... and in a quick test, it seems working fine to me... so lets start with collecting some information...
you didnt say which version you upgrade from.... was it 5.7.0 to 5.7.1? that is what you seem to indicate... and only a handful of changes in that release - none of which would (or should) have affected topic sort ordering...
I assume that you are aware each user can sort the topics as they choose? so is this for one user (or admin) or for all users?
on forum - options - general display settings, what are you sorting options for topic view?
and then in the user where you see this happening, what are the topic view sort order options on that user profile, profile options - display options panel?
This will allow us to more accurately emulate what you are doing...

I upgraded from 5.6.7 to 5.7.1. The issue I was trying to address was for all users. And the sort option check box on the General Display Settings page is what I was referring to as the issue. The issue was with an admin and I made the mistake of not looking at their individual settings. It appears the issue was ultimately operator error and it is now working fine. Thank you for your response.
