No problem. None of this is super important to me. It would be nice if I can retain the old data, but not essential.

BTW, the forum that won't import is called BarronRiverProject.

I can sort of fix the non-importing forum by moving one of the topics to another forum. Then, everything imports fine and I just need to move the topic back to its proper place in SP.

And I guess I could fix my other problem by doing a find & replace in MySQL on the character used as an apostrophe by the Mexican poster, so for me, it looks like I have a solution.

The offending character is 0xB4 while it should be 0x27, AFAICS.

I'll leave my DB as it is for the moment though, in case Andy still wants to play with it.

There is still the 2 issues with the current beta SP5 importer.

-Directory needs to be renamed to sp-import before it will run

-Doesn't import any posts.

I have re-built the zips this morning. Thanks for that.
Any chance you could give me a post table ID of one of the offending posts - just to save me hunting for it?

The poster is called DLS. He is in Mexico and uses a Mac. The second post he made contains the offending character in this text:

HELLO…?
IS THERE ANYBODY IN THERE?
JUST NOD IF YOU CAN HEAR ME.
IS THERE ANYONE AT HOME?
COME ON, NOW,
I HEAR YOU <-truncated here

I am not familiar with databases but AFAICS it is in the table smf_messages and the ID_MSG is 5.

Well it was V1.

There is an updated V5 importer that you might like to try. Certainly pulled in all of your database on my local testbed.

I'll have a go in about an hour. I've just woken up. smile

BTW, I just tried to set my timezone in my profile on this forum and the setting won't take. When I click "Update Display Options" it reverts to UTC. I tried both Australia/Brisbane and UTC+10.

Edit: I notice the the post times now match my timezone even though my profile still says UTC.

I just tried the new V5 beta importer, but it still did not import any posts:
