For the life of me, I thought there was an option to force Simple:Press to create square aka cropped avatars. However, in the Profiles > Avatar Options, there is only a field to set the max-width, not the max-height or crop mode for the avatars. I’m using SP Avatars. Do I need to change this in the CSS? I just thought there was a crop option *somewhere*.

We do not and never have cropped but I believe with 5.1.4 we do now resize if the original is larger than the size you have set… although I will need to verify that statement.
Thanks. Yes, I’m using 5.1.4. But, as you can see from my screenshot, there is no option to set height or “square” crop. Could you tell me where that option is set? Thanks!
5.1.4? 100%? That is a 5.1.3 panel you are showing there. Did you have any problems running the 5.1.4 upgrade?

Thats better. That’s a different screen shot to the earlier one and this IS 5.1.4.
The Maximum Avatar display width determines the size and uploaded avaytars will be resized to this. As I said before – we do not and never have performed cropping so if not square in the first place they will be sized to the width in the same ratio as the original.
we will get the help on that updated too… seems the resizing change in 5.1.4 didnt make it into the pop help…
