I’m looking to see if anyone has implemented this into the forum. Switching from IP.Board to Simple Press and the only feature I’m having an issue with is Status Updates. Basically you can post a status update to your profile and other users can comment on it, per status. Is it possible with just SP or am I going to have to implement something like BuddyPress also?
Any ideas?
status update? sorry, not following the concept… can you elaborate a bit further?
is this a forum only feature or valid for wp too? you would like someone to be able to write a status on their own profile? like a tweet? and then other users can look at the profile of a user and look at their status updates?
unless you see an IP.Board forum, easiest to explain is almost like a facebook post. You post a “status update” to your profile, and other users can comment on your status update. They are only viewable under your profile or in a “widget” type area.
think we are saying the same thing… but afraid we dont currently have something like that… certainly doable via a plugin… and can add it to our list or may be another ambitious SP lover will code up the plugin (its not that complex)..
