Subcription Emails don't seem to work

Hi,

I and my users aren't receiving emails for new topics even though we have subscribed, i checked and my email address is correct.

I am using wishlist member for membership.. any ideas ?

first, all emails including our subscription are sent by wp... and there are lots of user issues with wp sending emails, particularly with shared hosting... usually a good smtp plugin, like HGK SMTP, will cure those issues...

please explain further what you mean by new topics?  subscriptions are typically for existing topics... unless you have enabled subscriptions to forums and you have actually subscribed to a forum..... is that what you mean here??

and are you using digests?  you will get either notification for each subscription or a digest, but not both...

Sorry for the confusion, i was meaning that as an admin, i have it ticked saying for me to be notified when a new topic / post is added but i don't receive that.

I have turned on a SMTP plugin see how that goes :) thanks

so sounds like you are confusing admin notifications with subscriptions??? subscriptions come for the subscriptions plugin and involve subscribing to forums or topics to get notified of changes in that subscribed forum or topic only... admins can get signed up for notifications of any new post on the forum on the forum - admins - your admin options admin panel... have you enabled that notification option? again, admin notifications do not use the subscriptions plugin and are different (though easy to see the confusion)...

If I have missed something, please elaborate...

Hi yes sorry... i do understand the difference, my original post was just to say that i don't get emails from either.

and just to clarify yes i do have that option enabled.

if the SMTP plugin does not resolve it then do double-check all of your email settings - especially under the forum Options > Email. if all is correct it might then be worth asking your host if there is any problem.
