Hello guys,

One more question regarding subforums.

I just noticed that when a subforum get a new topic/post. The forum shows it in the drop down meny (most recent topics with unread posts), as well with an icon in the subforum (this forum has unread posts in..), but no icon in the parent forum.

Is this an result of

  sp_ForumIndexSubForums('allNested=0', __sp('Sub-Forums'), __sp('Browse topics in %NAME%'));

or is there any way i can accomplish this?

Thank you in advance!

/Thomas

That´s a pity.

Simple Machines Forum have the option i was asking for, and I was hoping there was a way to make it work in SP as well.

However i cant be lucky all the time. smile

Keep up the good work!

If you were just referring to the QuickLinks listing then those links are links directly to the forum in question so I believe it is right that a subforum post should only highlight the subforum the post is in. If you are meaning something else then I think i need some more explanation.

If the QuickLinks is the name of the smal icons below the topic and post count in each forum, then yes i am referring to QuickLinks.

The problem i have, is that when my subforums get a new topic/post, the parent forum does not highlight or in any way show that the subforums have a new topic/post.

The only way my users can find the new topic/post except browsing through all forums with subforums (and i have many), is to use the drop down meny with "most recent topics with unread posts".

I was hoping maybe it exist a way to highlight forums that got a new subforum topic/post.

Andy, if understand, they want the unread icon to bubble up all the way from the lowest subforum up to the top parent...  but want the allNested option set to 0 for everything else about the subforums...

The reason for this is because we dont want the names of the 2nd level subforums to show up in "top parent" together with the names of the 1st level subforum.

Ok - perhaps I am being dumb but I still do not have a very clear idea of exactly WHERE you are referring to for this display... how about a screenshot of the area and the view so I can be sure of what you mean?
