Okey, so if i understand you correct:

the only way for my users to actualy locate new posts/topics in subforum, is either to browse through each forum with subforums until they stumble upon the right one or to use the dropdown menu with "new/recently updated topics"?

With few new posts it would be a minor issue, but my forum has 50-100 new posts/topics each day which limit the use of subforums.

Maybe a eligible feature for the future? It would make it easier to locate posts/topics in sites that utilize many subforums.

yes it can be considered but it is not actually as easy as it might sound...
