The subforums is not marked with a special icon, if it contains unread posts.
This is on both the forum-main-page, and the subforum-main-page.
Any way to fix this?

not currently... but we have made a change in the next version to allow you to have an alternate icon for unread subforums..

One thing Mr Papa.. is it Ok if I send you a PM regarding new posts / unread posts.
Maybe you could log into my site, and check if everything is the way it's meant to be.. I am afraid there is something wierd going on - I don't think simple press is meant to function the way it does on my site.
It is not possible for me or my users to follow up the posts we write.. it's no way of telling which posts are read, and which are not, and which threads has answers, and which has not.
The plugin-"Subscription" button on top shows e.g (5), but it's not always any "New posts" buttons once the popup shows up.. Sometimes it's there, but most of the times it's not.. Many things like this is starting to ruin our forumactivity, and users aren't posting so much anymore.. This is horrible for us, as I'm sure you understand.
I believe this is a bug on MY site, not in SimplePress - but I would like to have a professional opinion before we start tweeking the code by ourself..

not sure I follow.. the subscriptions button number only shows new, unread topics (not posts)... but when you view the popup it will show you subscribed topics...
also, we do not mark posts as read or unread... but we do on forum / topics...
