At the top of the forum, the little button/widget that shows "Subscribed: 0" always says 0. I have tested this with my admin account and a user account. Yet, when the button is clicked, subscriptions do appear (and some do have new unread posts).

Am I missing something? Can you help me figure out what's going on?

Thank you. :)

The count is the number of new, unread posts that you are subscribed to... its NOT a count of the subscribed topics...

Right. That's what I mean, though I guess I didn't say it very clearly. When there are new unread posts in subscribed threads, it still says 0. Like just now, I'm subscribed to THIS thread, and you added a reply, and Subscribe still said 0. Before I came to this thread, I refreshed the page and it said 0. Then I clicked on the button and came to this thread anyway (I knew there was a reply because I got it via email).

Actually it appears to be working here. But it doesn't work on my site.

Before we take this any further can you tell me if you are looking at your own site from the perspective of and logged in as a forum admin? And if so - does this actually apply to your users?

I've tested this both as an admin and a user.

and just to be sure,  when you tested, you were not testing your own posts, right?  by definition, when you create the post, you are 'notified' of the update to the topic when the page reloads...

so your test, needs to be between two accounts...

account A, subscribe to topic X...  log out...  log in as account B... add post to topic X...  log out... log back in as account A (be sure on different page than topic)...  is count increased?

just want to make sure the test methodology was correct...

also, worth checking on forum - options - global settings, do you have auto update enabled?

How I tested is:

1. User A makes the post (thread).

2. User B subscribes to the thread and navigates away from it.

3. User A adds a reply to the thread.

4. User B refreshes the page, and subscriptions read 0.

User A was using Firefox, User B was using Safari.

Yes, auto update is enabled.

Thank you!

what if the user logs out before trying to view the new unread post?  if they come back in, is set?

I tried a similar test on couple test sites with no issue...

what other sp plugins do you have?
