Support Forum
Hi,
I'm perhaps trying to do something rather complicated but I'm hoping there's a simple solution. I'm setting up a large buddypress network based on a Wordpress Multi-Site install which will eventually have 5 or 6 websites running through mapped domains. Each domain will have its own SimplePress forum associated with it.
Users will be able to register globally through buddypress for access to the network/community and access lots of content across the entire network, part of which being the forums on each domain. At the moment I'm testing the sites without domain mapping and users can register fine with buddypress, but they're not being added as registered users for the forums on each domain. They only get added as a user for the forum on the site they registered through if that makes sense.
So when a newly registered user who joined through site 1 goes to the forum on site 2, they show as logged in on the forum of site 2, but they can't post, nor can I see them as a registered user under the Users section in admin.
What I need is a way of making sure users are registered and have standard rights across all forums on my network, and it's a fundamental feature of how the network should operate from my clients point of view.
Has anyone done this or had similar issues? I've done a search of past posts but can't find anything on the forum.
Here's an example of two of the sites in question:
Site 1 forum: http://www.modelflyermagazine......yer/forum/
Site 2 forum: http://www.modelflyermagazine......els/forum/
Both run under a global buddypress install on modelflyermagazine.com. The idea is they can register from any of the sites, but access content all around the network 🙂
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
Justin
