I am getting no issues this end. But of course you may have different options set.

Have you tried a temporary switch to one of the WP default themes simply to establish whether your belief that it is the theme is correct?

Yes, I've switched to Twenty Fifteen and then everything is working fine.

This weekend I'll try to rollback to the previous version of the theme. I'll let you know the outcome.

Thanks

Hi,

I've rollback the theme to the previous version and everything is working again.

Now the http calls are in mixed lower and uppercase, so the icons are back !

Artbees from the Jupiter theme won't help as they think it's a third party plugin issue....

However, I'm happy it's working again although it's with a "older" version of the theme and I hope this will not give issues with future updates.

Thanks for your help

There almost certainly will come a time when you will have to upgrade so it is best not to let this lie. If I were you I would go back to the theme authors and send them this:

Simple:Press displays it's forum content on a standard WordPress page. This means that it is subject to the same filters and actions as any other WP post or page content. Quite clearly, after the page content is created but before it is sent to the client for display, something is trawling through the page content and converting image file names in 'img' tags to lower case.

As this behaviour began with a recent update to the Jupiter theme, and returns to normal with other themes or when Jupiter is reverted to a previous version there appears to be no other likely conclusion than Jupiter being responsible for the issue.

A quick glance through the Jupiter code suggests many points of content filtering as well as use of the php strtolower() function.

It is easy to point fingers at other components in the rich and varied world of a WP website but this is a unique and one-off problem that is currently resolved by using a prior version of Jupiter. But we all know that this is not something that can be done longer-term so resolving the cause of the problem is important to this user of your theme and our plugin. We remain willing to do whatever we can to resolve the conflict.

They have asked me to setup a test site...

The Simple Press is a premium plugin, right? Can you please duplicate your website on a test subdomain and update your theme and let me know it's credentials? This would be a great help because the Simple Press is a premium plugin and I can not install in on my local machine.

Looking forward for your feedback,

Best regards,

This is not correct. Simple:Press is NOT a 'premium' plugin. It is completely free to download and use.

Just to expand a bit on Andy's comment.  We do offer additional addon plugins and themes for purchase but the core plugin is freely downloadable and usable. They won't need any plugin addons to replicate this.

Also, sorry for late to game here and apologize if this has been asked and done, but have we tried going to forum - integration - page and permalink and tried enabling the strict wp api option?

The option forum > integration > page and permalink has been done but with no effect.

The other option to enable the strict wp api is not tested...., is it worth to try ?

Not really. It will not effect the http requests being made.

Please do keep us abreast of progress on this one. I am most curious to find out why this is happening as I assume you are also.
