Support Forum
Hi there,
Today I've installed all the things needed for our forum, but have a couple of issues:
- Thanks Plugin, not working ( see screenshot 1 )
- Online Users, not updated with forum/groups ( see screenshot 2 )
- Language, Dutch language installed, but not working ( see same screenshot as 2 )
Still working on the setup, so there is no urgency at all.
I am going to need more information on what you mean by the Thanks plugin 'not working'. What is happening?
On the stats - these are cached and updated - by default once an hour. They do this with a standard WP Cron task. You can also run this manually from the forum admin > Toolbox Cron Inspector. If, after the scheduled time they still do not update it might be that your WordPress Cron 'engine' has not scheduled the tasks properly. Deactivating and instantly reactivating SP will usually resolve that - but it should not need it.
As to translation - have you checked if a full translation has been made for your language? And have you included a translation file for your SP theme which covers most of what is needed?
The quickest way to check is to click on the little 'i' link next to the SP copyright link at the very bottom. This opens an 'about' popup. If anything is translated in that popup then translations are working correctly.

I expect a "Thanks" button into the right corner of the Post Thanks plugin, but is not there.
FIXED by running wp-cron manually >> Scheduled time are in Admin > Toolbox Cron, but not working, have deactivate and reactivating SP, first a fatal error ( due to the WP " The Events Calendar" plugin, deactivate that one ) and still not updated the stats.
The translation is not full regarding the Language page ( 96 % for the frontend ) but nothing is in Dutch. However the little "i" link shows a copyright in Dutch.
Thanks: Have you turned on the permission that allows your members to use the 'Post Thanks' ? Go to permissions and turn the option on for those permission sets that it applies to. Is that your problem?
Cron: WordPress itself makes extensive use of the Cron scheduling. SP and many other plugins then add to that schedule. If it is genuinely not working then this needs to be taken up with WordPress support. If you create a blog post and schedule it to be published in the future - does it get published?
Translation: I see that popup is virtually completely translated into Dutch thus the translation engine is working correctly. As I said above - the vast majority of translations are made through the Simple:Press theme you are using and you have probably not included that. So - have you added that yet (Integration > Language) ?

Thanks: That was the issue :-), thanks. Is an admin not allowed to give thanks ? I've set the permissions also on the "Full Access" and "Moderator Access"
Cron: Not tested yet as this is a brand new site, but good idea to test. And if not working I'll fix this with the cron on the server itself.
Translation: In Integration > Languages it says "Translation file installed" by the Theme ( Reboot )
Update..., have seen the translation for Reboot is 0%..., shall I do some translation or are there not many Dutch users ?
Yes - admins can use the thanks plugin. Admins also are not members of any user groups as they have global rights.
Looking at the translation site I see that almost all of the Reboot theme has been translated into Dutch but none if it appears to be validated - an annoying step that the translation software requires.
If you would like me to make you a validator so that you can check the current translations and set them as correct then I can do so - but will need the user name you used to register on the translation site.

While it is unlikely there is a possibility that your permission profile has become scrambled. Try going to the forum admin > toolbox > housekeeping and run the task to 'reset user auths'.
Also - am I safe to assume that you are NOT using any WP caching plugins?
I have set your user account up for validator for all projects/Dutch language. Thank you for this

The admin > toolbox > housekeeping and run the task to ‘reset user auths’ is not solving the issue with "Thanks" Still not visible.
No cache is using on the website, but it's not so important, maybe we will use the same as here, Usefull Answer.
The Reboot theme is finished with the Dutch language and tested on my forum by getting the latest update. I'll do the other projects in the next coming days.
