Ok, I just tried redownloading and resetting it up again with the same result.

I am trying to add this plug in to a active website. Is that the problem? Is this a theme needing its own separate domain? I wanted to somehow tie it in to the wishlist membership login site for the clients consulting clients....

Please let me know. This is the first time I have tried to use simple:press.

Thanks, Sandra

Nope... active web site is fine...  no domain, just part of wp like you are doing...

yes, works well with wishlist member (what we use here)...

not sure why its giving you headaches...

did you try via ftp like I suggested?

are you not familiar with ftp?  would be hard to explain that process...

but WordPress plugins are stored in a folder on your server...  typically, /wp-content/plugins

on your computer, take the simple-press.zip file you downloaded and extract it on your computer...  you will end up with a folder called simple-press...  in it are a bunch of directories and files...

using your ftp client, upload directly to the server you are trying to install it on...  in the plugins directory I told you about above...  upload the simple-press directory and everything in it...

then go to the wp plugins list and try activating it...

but first, remove the failed attempt using the wp installer...  I dont have any real ideas why its not working for you - lots of installs that way...  its part of wp, not the plugin...

Ok, I have not ever uploaded a plugin through ftp. Will get our programmer to do it.

Thanks, Sandra
