I've seen several threads where users have reported time (displayed in seconds) and time zone issues. But I haven't seen one that exactly fits my issue so I'm starting a new thread.

I have checked my WP timezone settings (settings>general) and confirmed that my time zone "Local Time" matches my time zone. I've also confirmed in my forum profile that the time zone matches.

When I create a new forum post, the time above my avatar is also correct (shows 8:59pm for a post that happened at 8:59pm).

However, when I look at my Recent Forum Posts widget it says my 8:59pm post was "7 hours ago". And it says that other posts that are minutes old (from other people) are also from 7 hours ago.

Suggestions?

There are no known issues with timezones currently...  Are you running latest 5.0.5 core and latest template tags plugin 1.0.9??  they had fixed any known issues...

My mistake, I was running the previous version (5.0.4?). When I updated to 5.0.5 it seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks!

Sorry did not mention:

Once Set do NOT change the Server Timezone
If it is ever necessary to change the WordPress server timezone setting be aware that all existing blog and forum posts will still be held with the original date and time – these will not change. So there may be an immediate period where the times appear to be wrong but this will work itself out after a day or so.

Ah yes. Well changing this setting is only going to effect new posts not old ones so they need to disappear off the radar or be ignored when testing if things are now OK when the right settings are put in place.
