going from 1.2 to 2.0.2 there is a chance for that message since the location of the upgrade moved... kind of random chance on wp activating a mess of stuff if it does the upgrade before or after the new file is there... but its harmless...

Okay thanks.  Reached out to both the developer for my theme, and for TablePress, to ask them about TinyMCE.  Hoping for responses soon.  Other than that, not sure where to turn next.  I'd like to get the forum launched, but none of the other text editors cut the mustard (whatever that saying means).

If you can shed any light on a potential troubleshooting path, I'm all ears.  Thanks!

so just trying to narrow it down... but can you do a temp switch to the default wp theme? and see if any change?

and also perhaps disable that other tinymce plugin and see if it happens...  would at least narrow it down...

thanks for link... I do get a bunch of js errors on your site...

hard to narrow down... two from the page itself and one from plus one... all related to jquery... just not sure where from since as you say, nothing overtly loading from external...

not sure what we have tried ;) but can you also try going to forum - options - global settings and turn off the js combining/cache...  dont think it will matter but worth trying...

Okay - quickly tried everything (nothing worked) and, as a last resort, switched over to the default theme.  BOOM.  Suddenly it's working again.

My new question: Where do I tell the theme author to look for the source of the problem?

good question...  I would start with the stuff he is adding to tinymce...  can you disable that from within theme options?  or via hooks?  be worth telling him that we are using the wp editor class to put the wp tinymce editor on the front end... he may be assuming admin only and that some needed js or files is already loaded...

Will send him a note to steer him toward this thread.  He's extraordinarily responsive, so hopefully he can chime in and help wrap this up quickly.

Thank you.

EDIT:  Just realized he can't get to this thread, I don't think, unless he purchases a support package.  Will send him the text of your response instead.

happy to work with him if needed to resolve...  its possible we did something wrong or missed a step too in the reuse of the wp editor...  would have to be related to other themes/plugins adding stuff...

I'm reasonably certain that his Support Forum is public.  So I started a thread there as well.

If you're interested in joining the conversation there, here's the link.  Lead developer's name is Brian, he's a ridiculously good guy, although swamped.
