like I said, if you can find where they hook into the wp tinymce, we can help turn it off...

Unfortunately i have no idea where to look for it, and i just talked to my programmer (who is also just working freelance as that), and he too has to call "pass" when it comes to wp hooks.

Guess there's nothing for me to do, than to wait (hope) for a theme update.

Did you search the theme files? Is it a free theme that you can zip up and send us to look at?

I bought the theme off of Themeforest, so i'm sure i would be breaking the license if i uploaded it freely. I could - however - mail it to you i guess?

I did find a "tinymce" folder, with this file in it:

Well before we go that far open the themes functions.php file (you can use the WP theme editor for this) and go through it to see if you can see any code that starts with the terms 'add_action' or 'add_filter' and if you find some see if that is followed by anything that looks like it might be tinymce or editor related.

I had no luck in functions.php, but i did find "shortcuts.php", (uploaded here) which seem to have something to do with it. Forgive me if i'm off - im struggling! :)

You're not struggling, You're doing OK! smile

See that line in the shortcodes.php file:

add_action('init', 'add_button');

well comment it out and see what happens. You can comment it out by placing a hash in front of the line # or 2 slashes.

And that worked!

This is an awesome temporary solution, till the theme is updated (if it ever is).

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me with this! You rock! :)

Good news. Try this instead.

Instead of commenting it all out - change the 'init' filter name to 'admin_init' which should then allow the buttons to be added to the admin (ie., for wp posts etc) but not be used on the front end. Unless, of course, you really don't want them as you suggested you might not.

I will consider that Yellow Swordfish, thank you!

For now i'll just leave it off i think. Most of these buttons were obsolete / bugged anyways, so this solution is fine :)

Like i said in my previous post, i really appreciate the help you gave me here. Those Avenue guys could really learn a thing or two about supporting their customers from you guys.

Thanks again :)
