Is this just because you have not installed the tinyMCe SP plugin?

I have TinyMCE Advanced installed and activated.

And, the PC is plugged in too wink

What is TnyMCE Advanced? That doesn’t sound like our plugin to me…

Ok, I was able to get the Captcha plugin activated.

But, TinyMCE won’t activate – says: “You do not have permission for this request /wp-admin/admin.php?page=simple-press/admin/panel-plugins/spa-plugins.php&action=activate&plugin=tinymce-richtext/sp-tinymce-plugin.php&title=Editor%20(TinyMCE%20-%20Rich%20Text)&sfnonce=fd08373e97”

any ideas?

We have had a small number of users for whom the folders SP created at install were given the wrong ownership and/or permissions. Something we are still investigating I am afraid.

Can you please check the wp-content/sp-resources folder and sub-folders? We recommend 755 for folders and 644 for files.
However it is possible that is has been created as belonging to the wrong ‘user’. If you know how to check and correct this then please take a look otherwise you may need to ask your host to check and correct it if necessary.
If this is wrong – we would also be grateful if you could tell us what it was set to. And apologies for the problem.

Had this same issue occur on another site… I can enable other plugins, but not TinyMCE

I get a “page not found” at this URL “domain.com/admin.php?page=simple-press/admin/panel-plugins/spa-plugins.php&action=activate&plugin=tinymce-richtext/sp-tinymce-plugin.php&title=Editor%20(TinyMCE%20-%20Rich%20Text)&sfnonce=aa4eb51df0”

Can you provide a link to whatever you mean when you refer to “If you know how to check and correct….”

Trying to troubleshoot plugins now…

Thanks,

Well I just used Google which brings up hundreds of sites but this is probably is as good an explanation and tutorial as any:

Thanks… all the directories/files are the recommended permissions.  I’ve tried this in several ways, and none are working.

Filezilla reports the Owner/Group as the same as the other plugins which have activated successfully.

Can’t figure out how it makes sense that the other SP plugins are working just fine, activating, etc… after upload, and the one that we really need to work, TinyMCE won’t.

Really appreciate the work that you guys put into this forum… it’s very impressive… but, i’m at a loss where to go next

Not your job to help me for free, but a sincere thanks for trying,

Cheers

Well that’s good news anyway.
Have you tried to download a fresh copy if the TinMCE plugin and retried? It could just be a simple matter of corruption.

yes, have tried that twice…

have any of the other people who have had this issue given any clues that we might be able to follow?

We are using cpanel based hosting with Westhost, which in most respects has been very compatible with WP and associated tools …. all the versions of WP, mysql, php, etc… are above minimums described.

Will try with their support tomorrow, but not really sure i’ll get very far…. will keep you posted.

Maybe we can figure it out,

maybe dumb question, but is the tinymce editor selected in your sp profile??  each user can select editor of choice…  yours may have been ‘locked in’ before you added tinymce…

Found the issue… it was with .htaccess files modified by the plugin ‘BulletProof Security” which does following:

“Website Security Protection: BulletProof Security protects your website against XSS, RFI, CRLF, CSRF, Base64, Code Injection and SQL Injection hacking attempts. One-click .htaccess WordPress security protection. Protects wp-config.php, bb-config.php, php.ini, php5.ini, install.php and readme.html with .htaccess security protection. One-click Website Maintenance Mode (HTTP 503). Additional website security checks: DB errors off, file and folder permissions check… System Info: PHP, MySQL, OS, Server, Memory Usage, IP, SAPI, DNS, Max Upload… Built-in .htaccess file editing, uploading and downloading.”

Disabled and restored to original WP config and TinyMCE activated.

Thx… donation happily given for your time and a superior piece of work with SP,

M.

Well thank you kindly.

That’s a good find. It would be nice to know exactly why the problem was happening though…

But glad you are up and running now.
