OfflineHi
Setup:
 WordPress 3.3.2.
 Simple:Press Version 5.0.5
Simple:Press active plugins Template Tags and Widgets
 Server PHP/5.2.17
I'm trying to Enable Avatar Uploads. I did have this working in the previous version of Simple:Press but I only enable it occasional so that I can upload an Avatar for a User, we don't allow the users to do it.
The settings I have checked are:
Profiles > Avatars > Enable Avatar Upload (showing green)
Permissions > Manage permissions > Can upload avatars (Showing green but with the note "Action settings displaying this icon require enabling to use")
 Avatar Priorities are set to:
Uploaded Avatar
 Avatar Pool
 SP Default Avatars
 Gravatars
 WP Avatars
 Remote Avatar
When I login as an Admin and go to Edit the member Profile the only option I have is to select one from the Avatar Pool.
Have I missed something?
Thanks

I found that I had to change the Standard Access permissions for users to Allow uploads. This seemed a bit counter intuitive as I only wanted to allow Admins like me to upload them but it all worked fine after that.
that would be correct... for users to upload they have to have permission... currently, despite an admin being able to edit, they would need the permission... we can think about changing that as we generally let the admins do anything, however, where it would take some special code for a unique, one off situation like this, we dont always want to have an 'if' check everywhere - uses up memory and resources...
