sorry, you are misunderstanding what a wp cron is... its not the same as a cron job on your server... its just a way for wp to run periodic events... they do an internal comparison of time vs a time for an event... but they dont actually use a unix cron job... which is why someone has to visit your site every so often for wp crons to run - they require wp to be doing something...
did you try the scheduled post?

so something has messed up wp cron... would suggest googling that topic or posting in the wp support forums...
a couple other things you could check... temp switch to the wp default theme and see if you can schedule a post... if so, might be your wp theme doing something...
or deactivate all plugins and see if you can schedule a post... if so, reactivate one by one and keep checking...
or its possible the wp cron option has gotten corrupted... go into your wp db using phpmyadmin or other... and go to the wp options table... find the option name 'cron' and delete it... it will regenerate itself and maybe it will start working again...

well, the order that wp plugins are activated can have a definite impact on how the site functions...
but good to hear wp cron working again...
