My forum has a situation where we need to link a (new) topic to an existing topic in another (sub)forum  Basically, as a forum admin, I would choose an existing topic and create a link for it in another (sub)forum. It would then display this topic in the choosen forum, any post going to this topic would update the original topic as well.

Is there an easy way to implement such a feature ? I don't mind if the stats (latest post, post counts) are not counting the linked topic in the new subforum.

Cheers.

Well that is something we have never been asked for before!

If I understand you fully then the answer is no easy way. Happy to give some thought to possible implementations but these would require some basic core changes...
