not sure what you mean by tracking users... but any post to the forum has the IP of the poster recorded with the post info... any admin can review the IP of a poster via the forum tools...

Simple:Press does store the IP address of the user who makes each forum post. This data can be found in the sfposts table. If you want to look at an individual post to ascertain the IP address of the author then you can use the forum tools (the popup menu of tools) from any post and you will see the option in the menu.
Simple:Press does not currently track the IP address of casual forum browsers. To be frank - it has never been asked for before. But remember SP ONLY tracks those visiting forum pages although we may expand this one day. There are other WordPress plugins that monitor who is online for the whole site and it may be that one of those will include IP address data.
