Support Forum
Hi,
We've updated the theme for our website and I've noticed that adding topics, replying to posts etc are no longer working in the forum. Not sure what the problem could be as the blog post linking plugin works, it created a new topic when we posted a new article on the site. It only appears to be from inside the forum itself.
Forum can be located at http://sportsbanter.com.au/sports-forum/
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
It appears you have W3 Total Cache minifying and caching the forum page. That could be causing all your issues plus some errors being reported by Firefox.
You can't really cache Simple:Press pages. If you can either deactivate that plugin or turn off minifying and caching of the forum page. Once done then test again and see what issues you may/may not have.
Hi Brandon,
Thanks for your help, we've now excluded the sports-forum page from caching and minifying, this hasn't fixed the issue but hopefully this will help in identifying what the problem could be.
We seem to be getting javascript errors at the bottom of the page, but I checked the jquery as advised in another forum topic and this seems to be correct, maybe I'm looking at this wrong though.
Cheers
Getting there.
I see the error reported in FF from Elastislide jQuery Carousel Plugin on all pages which could be the errors you see shown at th bottom of the page. Is that from the WP theme or an additonal plugin. Easiest way to check would be to change to a default WP theme and see if you get the same error shown.
still looks like caching going on too... from your footer:
<!-- Performance optimized by W3 Total Cache. Learn more: http://www.w3-edge.com/wordpre.....s-plugins/
Minified using disk: basic (Request URI is rejected)
Page Caching using disk: basic (Requested URI is rejected)
Database Caching 42/50 queries in 0.046 seconds using disk: basic
Object Caching 4142/4145 objects using disk: basic
Served from: http://www.sportsbanter.com.au @ 2012-12-05 12:31:45 -->
so still db and object caching... later shouldnt matter assuming you actually have an object cache running on the server (ie apc, memcached, other)... but the db caching will be bad... you really should go through all the caching types your are using and exclude the forum page...
I am not seeing the one Brandon referred to, but seeing js errors from a facebook plugin... I am not seeing any facebook stuff on the display, so not sure what its doing? could be because of the error...
expect you to be back soon too for styling in popups... that theme is doing bad things and loading a jquery ui css from google and its messing with simple press dialogs...

Hi,
It all seems to have stemmed from the change of theme that we made a couple of weeks ago, we're trying to go back to the theme developer to see if they can fix the problem as there appears to be something up with the way jquery's are being treated. We get the js errors on every page, not just the simple press page so hopefully we can get it sorted out soon!
Thanks for your help so far!
okay, let us know what you find.... and come on back if you have questions...
