Unable to change icons in forum

I'm trying to change the icons in my forum. I was able to upload the icons to the Custom Icon uploader but after I try and change the icon it posts a message at the top of the page that says: (Group Record Update Failed)

what version of sp?  did you fill out the complete group edit form, including the default usergroup permissions at the bottom?
