I have installed the plugin, setup a group, setup a forum, added permission, but I'm unable to add topics. When I click on add topic it appears to be running but nothing happens. I've included a Jing video link below to demonstrate what happens. Please advise.

Thanks
Mike

So as far as I can tell from that it looked more like all the links were not working - not just the add topic button. Would that be correct?

I think the first thing to do would be to look at what the link urls being generated are. Hover the mouse cursor over the topic title and in most browsers it will display the url down in the status bar area. Does it look correct?

Next - assuming it does - then the question has to be what in your environment is stopping the links from being actioned. So - what other WP plugins do you have active?

I disabled a 404 redirect plugin and it appeared to be working okay. However, I have completed the site setup, have not re-enable the 404 redirect plugin and everything appears to work with the exception of when I hover over "Add Topic". The URL displays "javascript:void(null) and I cannot add any topics even when logged in as administrator.

Any suggestions? I have tried everything I can think of including uninstalling, reinstalling, etc.

I am running the forum in a protected area of Wishlist Member and I have seen where many others have utilized the plugin in this manner with no problems.

Thanks,

Mike

ignore the javascript void...  just means that we are not using the href portion of the a tag but instead using an onclick action...

check this code article: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/

if you give us a link to your site, we can check for obvious conflicts...

are you really running yoast seo, seo in genesis and wp seo???  why?  seems counter intuitive and potentially hurtful... doubt it has anything to do with your issue, just seems odd and couldnt resist asking... ;)

No caching plugins, right? I dont see signs of any, so just confirming...

your site is throwing js errors, but not sure why...  genesis should be fine - I use it with forum on sites...  but a bit concerned by the responsive slider - especially since you dont even have a slider on the forum page (at least not that I can see)...  can you try disabling it on the forum page?  in the slider settings panel, you can set it to exclude the forum page by id... please try that...

The only SEO plugin I have running is WP SEO (Yoast). I have no caching plugins running. I'm running simple form inside WishList Member, but I don't think that would create the problem, would it? The only other plugins that are active are: antispam bee, backupbuddy, Exclude Pages from Navigation, Genesis Simple hooks, Gravity forms, Role Manager, WishList Member, Simple Local Avatars.

The developer used the Genesis responsive slider for the homepage, set up individual pages that are included in the slider settings to run the image rotation. I went as far as switching to exclude the forum page and still no luck.

well, what ever he/she did isnt working... the responsive slider js is still being loaded on every page including the forum...

I would like to take it out of the equation for the conflict/js errors first as we try to narrow down where its coming from...

I am having the same issue. Promoting the site doesn't matter if people can't add topics to it. Any solution to this issue?
