For months, since WordPress 4, I have countless errors on the server by using the version 4.5.1 of Simple: Press. I was not willing to upgrade to version 5, as support for Tapatalk is something I need today as breathing... I have another fórums with phpbb and Tapatalk, I really hope they support SimplePress in a near future...

Today I decided to pay the support and upgrade to version 5.5.6, but something happened during installation and have no way to enter in my fórums.

I have been with Simple:Press since January 2012 and I love it. We have more than 37,000 topics, and extensive user base, and now it seems that all is lost ... I have copies of all tables Simple:Press 4.5.1, and copies of the files, but I have no way of make it work for upgrade to 5.5.6 🙁

My site is http://www.nextn.es and the fórum URL was http://www.nextn.es/forum. I need help :-(((

I would have expected errors long before that...  last version of wp supported by sp 4.5.1 was around 3.2...

can you explain what problems you are having?  need something to go on...

did you follow the directions here:  https://simple-press.com/docum.....rsion-4-5/

have you tried updating forum permalink on forum - integration - page and permalink

When installing the 5.5.6., says "he does not have a valid plugin header", and a message of "be deleted if you uninstall all" with the plugin 4.5.1 deactivated

I also tried that, and it seemed that the installation was done, but:

I tried it with a version of the DB than a week ago, and continues to fail. I followed all the steps and testing several alternatives for almost 5 hours ago 🙁

Please I need help!

I dont understand what most of those images are showing me????  specifically 3 or 4... what do they show??

are you saying image 1 never completes???   if so, any errors?  something, like a cache plugin, might be blocking the ajax response...  you can always look in your browser console and see...

when do you get image 2??

I was being tested for 6 hours. In some occasions, I get to get to the screen of the first image, and it seems that all forums are migrated, but do not let me access my admin panel forums, he says I have no permissions! That's what appears on screen 2 and 3. In other tests, I managed to reach what appears on screen 4, install everything, which the transfer is made, but when accessing the forums administration screen is limited in options.

Returning to the really beginning of error: first, I disabled SimplePress 4.5.1 as stated in the explanation of migration. Sometimes in the past I disabled SimplePress to test performance with other plugins, etc. But this time there appeared a message that had never appeared: instead of the message to re-activate the plugin appear, appear the options: "On" "Remove Plugin" and a warning in red saying something like "if you disable the plugin all data will be erased" (in spanish, sorry for my english). That message scared me a bit, so I decided to turn back, but pressing the button "activate the plugin", the action was like uninstalling the plugin ... and the database was removed. Luckily, before I did copy migration.

I restored the backup of the data from before starting the migration, but no longer had access to my forums. It seems as if the disabling the plugin could not be switched on again. That is the error that was repeated for hours;I could not get it working again version 4.5.1 running since deactivate the plugin 🙁

Like Mr Papa I am nit sure by what you say and the images you have shown us whether the upgrade completed or not. So - can I assume that images 2 and 3 are AFTER the upgrade? If so then...

image 4:
I can see you have a lot of the admin missing so something seems to be wrong with your WordPress Capabilities handling. If you click on the 'Admin' menu at the top does it open up to allow you to get to the 'Manage Admins' panel or not?

If so then I suggest you give yourself the capabilities listed. If not then does your site use any sort of capabilities and/or roles or membership plugins? And if still not then are you able and willing to make an edit directly into the database?

Image 2:
This is actually a WordPress thing and generally means that WP has lost track of what you are doing and is not sure of you really should have access to the requested page. Normally going back to, say, the WP dashboard and then reselecting the target page will resolve this as long as you are logged in.

I think we need to get you fully installed properly before we worry about the forum data which, provided you have not deleted it, should still be safely in the database.

Thanks for the replys. I hope to migrate successfully. I love SimplePress, I have long debated whether to continue with this board, the only thing that kept me going was Tapatalk think, but I hope someday Tapatalk will offer support, I trust it.

Continuing with the problem, all my administrator permissions are operational. No part of WordPress has stopped working, or access is limited, only SimplePress 🙁
