Helllo guys

Thank you for the 5.1 update.

I got a couple of new issues:

* it´s not possible to use smileys in posts (nothing happens when clicking the icon)

* signature hight is very low, even when choosing 0 in adminpanel

* the textbox is only half size (see picture)

* it´s possible to drag entire textbox outside of the wp-theme (see picture)

* It´s not possible to execute the cancel button after starting a new thread or post

P.S.

I might add that i did update forum, default theme and child theme (copy of default) to 5.1.

Do you actually use the tinyMCE editor on your forums and can I assume that you do and have updated it? We have had a couple of people whose settings were lost during the upgrade. If this is what has happened could you try visiting the SP plugins list - locate the Editor - TinyMCE entry and click on the 'Uninstall' link. Then when that has completed, reactivate it - see if that solves the issue. Note ' Uninstall' NOT deactivate.

The height settings for signature control what is allowed not how it displays. And the display is controlled by the SP theme you are using. To make this area bigger you will need to make a small edit to one of the templates in the SP theme which you can do with the theme editor. The template is called spTopicView.php. Find the entry for signature display (called sp_PostIndexUserSignature) and at the end of the function arguments you will see a value for the maximum height - by default probably set to 55 (pixles). Enlarge this to suit your preference.

As always we recommend that you create your own SP theme so that any customisation is not lost during a future update. (http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/)

Arrrrrrr!!!

That's screwed up to! It's my default editor and everyone is using it!

Determining if i should restore from an earlier backup just before upgrading!

Uninstalling and reactivating restored it's settings.

We had this problem in a test run very early in 5.1 development and then were completely unable to reproduce it in many, many tests. I think we have had 4 or 5 users with this issue now. We are still investigating. But yes - that is the method we are advising.

we certainly strive for the thousands of upgrades to go smoothly, but seems we always have a handful of special ones wink

This tinymce one looks more troublesome...  and its always problematic when the devs cannot duplicate (except for long time ago as Andy said) it...
