We've just run an update to WordPress, our Genesis Theme and Simple:Press. We are now running

Core==

WordPress 3.6

Theme==

Genesis Theme 2.0

Genesis Framework - Child Theme 1.8

Plugin==

Simple:Press Version 5.3

Since the update the following has occured:

- When someone uploads an image into a Simple:Press forum post, and a viewer clicks on it, the screen freezes on the enlarged image. Check out the image at the top of this page for an example:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/mhtq.....update.png

- The website layout is all messed up when viewing the forums (it seems to be normal on non-forum pages). The title of the post weirdly appears in the header now, and the entire header/nav area is pushed down the width of that title.

Please advise steps to isolate and resolve issue.

Thanks

as we have mentioned. the folks at wp incorporated new jquery and jquery ui revs this release which may cause problems if you are running a custom sp theme...

see:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....tes-5-3-0/

for details on some theme changes you may want to (or need to) include...

in particular, look at the popup dialog section of that page...

as always, we post every release any core theme changes we make in case users want to update their custom sp themes...

I'm confused. I'm not running a custom SP theme -- just one of the out-of-the-box themes.

I've updated my WP theme (NOT SP theme), but from what I can tell, the link you sent me to doesn't address any of the issues I've been having (which again, are not problems with the SP theme, but with  forum functionality, and with weird formatting happening *outside* of the actual forum, on pages where the forum resides.)

Please advise.

Thanks,
Melissa

what that link is showing is that wp changes affected popups... it shows the changes to make to your sp theme...

if you are just using the one of the standard included themes, did you update it along with 5.3?

and as always, a link to the site ie enormously more beneficial than an image...

I was using

mytheme 1.0.15 by Andy Staines & Steve Klasen

with the "shades of grey" overlay.

I don't see any way to update this theme, but activated Default 1.2.3, also with the "shades of grey" overlay.

I'm still getting the weird behavior in my site's header.

As always, my site is a protected membership site, and the forum is not viewable by non-members, but I will DM login info.

Thanks,

Melissa

my theme is NOT one of our stock themes... it is your own custom theme... I would suggest you make the css changes, namely the popup dialog css as I originally linked too...

Would you still recommend those changes now that I've changed to the default theme (as I said above)?

Thanks!

for the title at the top, you will want to do this:  https://simple-press.com/wp-co.....malink.png

too many themes and plugins dorking with the meta title... we cant win...  add those changes to your theme, not ours and it will resolve that...

no, the code changes are already in our default theme... though to do the genesis title change, you will want to go back to your own them...

can you give me a link where the popup issue is happening... I tried it on about 10 images and working great... but might just be because you changed to default...   is it only in a specific browser?

The good news is that the popup issue seems to have stopped happening! Perhaps updating to Default 1.2.3 fixed it.

For the issue of the post title appearing above my site header, and pushing my header and nav bar down the page, can you give me that link in a different way? When I click it, it takes me to a tiny image of a chain, which I'm guessing is not what you intended to send me to. :)

What do you mean by: "though to do the genesis title change, you will want to go back to your own theme..."? I'm afraid I don't know what the genesis title change is...

I am running Genesis theme on WordPress, and I have a plugin that removes titles from WordPress pages. Is that what you're referring to? And if so, how does that apply to the issues I've been having problems with..? (Sorry, I just don't understand.)

Thanks!

ah, sorry, copied link image instead of page link... doh!

https://simple-press.com/suppo.....e/#p129907

we have to add an extra filter to handle genesis title handling..

yes default would fix the popup issue since we incorporated the fix... the link to the fix is for user custom themes...
