This post https://simple-press.com/suppo.....-to-5-5-1/ helped me resolve my "invalid database query" messages - THANK YOU! I've updated everything now except my SP theme. Everything seems to be working properly and I've done a complete backup but I'm scared the update from 1.2.3 to 1.2.9 could mess up settings/customizations. Will this disable all my SP plugin settings - Buddypress, editor tinyMCE Rich Text, File Uploader wth Plupload, Template tags and Widgets?
If this were to happen, is there an easy way to restore or would I have to do a complete revert to my backup?
Appreciate your guidance greatly.
Updating an SP theme will not effect any database storage which is where all settings etc., are stored.
If, however, you have made customisations to your current SP theme and have not made your own custom or child theme then those customisations will be lost if the theme is updated.

Thanks for your time to respond! Problem is another developer did the original setup so I'm not 100% sure whether there were customizations. I'm also not as versed with simple press or programming so therein lies my hesitation with the last little step. If all goes awry, are you by chance available for hire to help me restore the balance of their website universe?
Otherwise, I'll do a final database/ftp backup and then try to update with fingers crossed over the weekend.
Thank you and take care!
