I followed the directions to update to 5.1.4. After pressing "perform upgrade" everything was fine. However, soon after I added some plugins to the SP-Resources folder (which indicates the update should have been sucessfull), I get a lot of function errors on the page.  Moreover, the plug is now showing that it needs to be activated as if uploading the plugins reverted the entire upgrade process.  If I now click on Activate plugin, I get this error message:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/content/34/7352934/problem-with-post-edit-buttontml/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-auths.php on line 71

Because of this, I'm not even able to access any fields in my ADMIN Panel at all.

Please help!!!!

UPDATE: I WAS ABLE TO RESOLVE THIS BY REMOVING THE FOLDER AND REPLACING IT WITH THE SIMPLE-FORUM, PERFORM A DOWNGRADE, THE RETRIED THE UPGRADE PROCESS.  HOWEVER, ALL OF MY POST AND CONTENT APPEAR TO BE MISALIGNED AND ICONS OVERLAP TEXT.

So tell me about this 'downgrade'. Did you restore the backup database? I see no forums so what is the current position?

I've created another thread to address these questions. But in short, all my formatting from version 4.5.1 is screwed up.

why another thread??  harder to help if jumping all over the place...

and would be interested in the downgrade question since we dont have a way to do that... manually have to restore db from before upgrade...

judging by the error in post #1, you fall in the half dozen or so (out of tens of thousands) that had all their permissions wiped out in the upgrade... I would suggest going to forum - permissions - reset permissions and seeing if doing that gets you back up...  you will have to re set up any custom permissions you may have configured...
