not phpmyadmin, but your server control panel... for many sites, its called cpanel or plesk or other... where you administer your server... if unsure, you might ask your host...
can get same info from firefox with firebug in the console when upgrading...
if you want to pm a temp wp and sp admin account to us (yellow swordfish and mr papa) for your wp site, we can take a look with our tools... unfortunately, its late and I am about to head off to bed so Andy can perhaps look in AM...

I have now updated everything but noone is able to use the PM function to send messages at this point. No idea what to look at now. I checked the obvious that the opt out of PM was not chosen and everything looks fine on the preferences for PM's too.
What can I check now?

One more problem is that when my users and I click on XX topics with unread posts, nothing happens at all.
Ideas?

Try this quickly. Go to the forum admin > Global Settings and turn off the option to enable the use of the compressed, cached javascript. We may as well try that first anyway.
If that doesn't shift things perhaps you could set me up with a user account so I can see what errors are coming up when I click on these buttons.

So, a couple of new developments. I will create temporary WP & SP accounts a little later when I have time. I went into my WP backend today to check on things, and it showed the SP plugin as still needing to be updated (not just the database upgraded) so I did so. It seemed to proceed (gave me a success message) and then had the same upgrade screen available.
This time, when I pressed the blue button, I got this error message:
Upgrade Aborted
at build section: 9150
9175
Eric: If there is no message text to explain why it aborted then I think I favour a possible javascript conflict with your theme or another plugin. Or a low memory issue which we have seen before although that should, technically, be displayed as a message. The upgrade is not even getting started - just collapsing. Do you even see the progress bar at all? Any chance you could give it a try using the WP default theme?
fiddlerman: What about the account? Can you do that?

Thanks Yellow Swordfish,
Apparently Add Topic doesn't work either.
So 3 things with this update so far.
- PM's
- Add Topic
- Unread Posts
Thanks
