It would also be useful to know which of the new 'Admin Colour Schemes' you are using (Your profile)

I am using the "Light" color scheme though I tried all of them just to double check, it didn't resolve the issue.

Concerning that Nice Notification plugin, that's also from codecanyon.net, a nifty little notifications plugin to let users know of updates, announcements, special offers etc.

I'll contact the event calendar developers and make them aware of the conflict.

The problem is in fact simple press. If I change the css element to #adminmenu #toplevel_page_simple-press-admin-panel-forums-spa-forums div.wp-menu-image:before the problem goes away

Yes. Interestingly we actually followed the instructions published by the WP team who redeveloped the admin UI but clearly those instructions are incorrect.

I do have a fix for this. We just need to debate whether it is worth a special update or not. Personally not convinced it is but we will see what the consensus is later today.

OK  if anyone wants to fix this up prior to us issuing another update you need to make two small file edits as follows:

1 - /simple-press/sp-startup/sp-load-core-admin.php

Locate the code line:

add_action('admin_head', 'sp_set_custom_dashicon');

and comment it out or remove it - then save the file.

2 - /simple-press/admin/resources/css/spa-dashboard.css

Add anywhere - top or bottopm the following

#toplevel_page_simple-press-admin-panel-forums-spa-forums .wp-menu-image:before {
    content: '\f125';
}

and then save the file.

Thanks, this is what our admin looked like with the midnight admin theme. Fixed now with the changes suggested.

yes, as posted in multiple topics, it was wrong...   just wish it would have affected everyone the same so we would have known and fixed it before we released 5.4...

but the permanent fix will be in the next version... sorry for the trouble...
