Upgrade failed during installation. Need help. http://marketing.cpsinsurance......nk/forum-2
How do I revert back or should I go forward? Seems like I am stuck in the middle.
Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
In order to go back you would have to restore the db backup you made before the upgrade... and potentially revert to older plugins to... best to move forward...
but you have told us what failed in the upgrade... more info on the messages displayed would help... anything in the error log? have you retried it again?

when you say try it again, do you mean download the upgrade files and manually overwrite via ftp?
The forumn homepage obviously has errors although in my wp admin plugin section it shows I am at 5.2
These are the errors I receive at the top of my forum homepage:
Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/cpsirv/public_html/marketing-ms/thelink/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-plugins.php on line 552

are you sure the upgrade actually failed??? or just that the forum doesnt look right now?? asking because this error message from your server seems to indicate that the upgrade completed and that your server has the allow_url_fopen option disabled... Enabled is the php default and recommended setting... but some hosts feel they get better security with it disabled... the better security comes with better applications not server settings... but who am I!
try going to forum - options - global settings and disable the combining and caching of css files... it appears they have turned off some standard php functionality...
We have already updated the code in the next version to use curl instead and remove the dependency on allow_url_fopen... so until then, you can either enable that or disable the combined css cache...

good news... it would be better if you tried the file in this post:
https://simple-press.com/suppo.....e/#p118603
and then re-enabled those options... better performance for your forum...
