Sure - you can zip it up and email it to me - support at simple-press dot com - and we can try an upgrade here to see what happens.

You would also need to send me (either in the email or a PM here) login credentials of an SP admin so I can actually get into the site to run the upgrade from the admin.

All material will be removed as soon as the problem is diagnosed.

I included the whole DB file so it may take a while to get to you.

Oh this is one of those so, so stupid errors but there agauin totally forgiveable. Well I think so anyway!

Tell me - do you know how to add a new column to a database table? Or - perhaps easiest - run this small script to do it for you (below)

You will need to perform all of this on the database BEFORE trying to activate PM. In other words - your original database with SImple:Press updated but PM not yet activated. Run this script:

ALTER TABLE ironpalmprodsmemberssfmessages ADD (attachment_id BIGINT(20))

And then activate PM and let;s see where we are after thatr.

Hi,

I performed the update. All fields in the new column are displaying as Null. The new tables are created but the old remains and nothing populates.

I have sent you a screen shot via email.

Yes when first created NULL is exactly what it should be.

I can replicate a correct upgrade of PM every time on your database at this end. But it does require the database to be the original, un-upgraded V4 database which has first the SP upgrade and then PM activated.

By the way - thanks to your database I have also corrected at least one of the issues that was creating the permissions corruption which will be supplied in the next SP update (5.4.2) - so I thank you for that and very much appreciate being given the opportunity.

Okay. I would like to test this in local first to see it myself before upgrading the live version. What is the best way to roll simple press back to 4.5.3 and start the process again.

Also is there anything I can do to prevent the permissions issue prior to upgrading?

Did you have to install simple press 4.3.5 on an old version of wordpress because at the moment it is taking a long time to install.
