I’m trying to upload an avatar picture (see attached) and it’s tiny, but I am getting an error message that it exceeds the maximum allowed file size.
I checked the settings, and increased the number of personal pictures allowed from 0 to 1. I also double-checked that users can upload avatars, is there something else I’m missing?

Are the max avatar size settings good at the forum admin > Profiles > Avatars panel? And if so – can you tell me the exact wording of this error message please?

I’m attaching screenshots of the error message and the Avatar settings. I didn’t change the Avatar size settings, but I can if that would help things. I might have changed the setting to use the SP avatar for the WP avatar, but I think that’s it.
Error message: “Sorry, the avatar file exceeds the maximum allowed file size”. But my file is only 43 KB, and it’s exactly 50×50 in size.

43 KB is actually pretty bog for a small file like an avatar. Remember that every extra byte slows down the time it takes to load a page!
Anyway – 43KB would require a minimum of 44032 for the max file size settings. And if you want to allow that sort of size I would recommend making it a little bigger to cope. Maybe add another KB on to that (another 1024 bytes).

It seems like such a small file size, I can’t imagine how small a file that is 10KB is.
